Burnt cookies

Some days are crap- you will burn your cookies; you will have no desire to do things that bring you joy; you will be confused about love; you will not have the energy to fix things; you will hate the uncertainty of everything; the banal can no longer be outwitted by using the right words; you will see through the guise of productivity; you will have evil thoughts of feeding the burnt cookies to the pigeons, because it’s payback for bullying the sparrows.

Yet, you know that all of these are trivial in the bigger scheme of things, just like how Lao Tzu asks us to embrace the paradoxes of life, which in this case roughly translates to: Stop yakking and just eat the damn cookies.

Jokes aside, you just need to observe, not react, and just be.

Does the cookie know it’s burnt? Therefore, it’s not a burnt cookie, it just is…right?

Update: Burnt cookies don’t taste very good despite the best attempt at wising up to the task.

Oh well.

It always feels like you’re one step closer yet two steps backwards. But so what? Cue to listen to Miles Davis and go on with life.
